Wow! Thanks for the update pkf, I hadn't seen it. I own both companies. AR has been trading down recently.

Doesn't seem to have hit the main newswire yet. I sold my AR and bought more TMM. Will buy back AR later. If this works I owe pkf a night on the town.

Although the short term benefits will be evident for those who own the companies being taken over, longer term, given the depressed valuations currently, the buyers, such as AR.to will be big beneficiaries. These takeovers may be a drag for a while longer but keep in mind this is not 2011 and prices are on the cheap. I have a friend who is involved with a hedge fund that targets only junior mining companies (YES they still do exist!) for the purpose of providing financing and taking a significant stake in the company (The usual stuff that is popular when prices are rising). He informs me that the amount of deals on the table that can be had at "ridiculous" prices is something he has not seen since the late 90's (post Bre-X era). A couple of years ago, many of these same companies would not even answer their phones and now the tables have turned 180 degrees.

Very good to hear pkf. Thanks for passing that along.
I intend to buy a lot of AR because I was very high on both companies but I felt like AR needed to make something happen with their one Mexican permit very much in limbo. They now look very very solid.

Sorry Daniel, he just blabs about general trends in the industry and that's how I like it; this way we preserve our friendship and no one has to get in trouble with the law.

TMM up over 5% on the day. That tweet has had an impact. Otto Rock can easily get under your skin with his arrogance but he does do decent work. He has been wrong many, many times so don't take everything he says as sacred. As Ronald Reagan once proclaimed, "trust but verify" although it was under a different context.
