That $25 level on GDX we talked about a few weeks ago with the gap there now also has the 50 day moving average in the area as well. I plan to take advantage of we get there, though I have no idea if we will b/c miners have been hanging in tough. Maybe we get a catalyst to push GDX down there this week?

Perhaps the bull market has eluded us for so long that it is difficult to proclaim "this is it!", and even though i still have short term "concerns", I am currently very confident that a new bull has been borne, albeit one that continues to dumbfound the masses. I base my findings on the vast number of beautiful looking long term charts (FNV, PPP) something that has not been present in the sector over the past couple of years. These stocks (and many others which I do not mention) have run enough not to question the validity of the BULL MARKET statement but what is relevant now is "how much can they correct?". However, we live in a world that is governed by ETFs, thus the GDX's and GDXJ's is what everyone looks at and unless these babies can get going, there can be no BULL MARKET proclamation. Since these ETF's, especially GDX, contain for the most part senior, fat-cat producers (I certainly wouldn't wait for BArrick or Kinross to get going)it may take some time before these type of stocks can get moving and create "legitimate" chart breakouts that will bring in the crowds. I guess we can call this a "stealth" bull market, which boils down to picking the "right" stocks to be in. Now for the short term concerns, albeit subject to change, the XAU can be at risk for a decline down to the 94-95 area (87-89 is worst case, YES THIS WILL HURT) but a move above the spring highs could eliminate the danger; of course, everything is subject to change!

Regardless of one's political views, there are certain people in the media which i find disgusting and Sean Hannity is one of them. Of course, just about everyone on MSNBC gives me instant indigestion! I remember the old days when one would turn on the evening news, the days of Cronkite, Jennings, Chancellor and Brinkley, and in spite of the fact everyone knew where Cronkite's loyalties lay for example, it was impossible to discern that fact because they were all so professional in delivering news and unbiased. No such thing today

I now longer watch news, other than video clips so I can see for myself. The media has become a joke with the level of disinformation and propaganda.
On the topic of miners, I agree with 'pkf', and the underlaying strength is easily discerned, all one has to do is look at the moving averages. It's typical in the initial stages of the bull for the best names to rise first (like PPP and FNV, among many others), then as the bull matures everybody else plays catchup, the big fat-cats and the more speculative/less desireable names, and lastly we'll see the total junk or scam stocks make a move.

The media is basically a reflection of the type of culture we live in. Place the following two headlines side-by-side and see which one gets the most hits.
Headline # 1: Kim Kardashian; major wardrobe malfunction!
Headline # 2: Interfaith gathering in Jerusalem draws thousands.

This is long but really worth listening to, at least the first half or so. This is a doctor who attended a meeting given by the President of Planned Parenthood in 1969 telling the plans of the Elite for the next 30 years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8-zHjyP3A4IOW, the culture we live in was designed for us to be this way.
